Forest Parks of Real Blogging Tips at FBC100 interviews
Can you imagine what life can do to us? I just cannot believe that Forest Parks is staying at Cairo – Egypt now and I didn’t had the chance to meet him before I moved to the States, I just didn’t read the latest interviews as I was really busy doing my things and getting ready to leave Cairo, I feel so sorry because of that but anyways.. Let’s enjoy this awesome interview with Forest of Real Blogging Tips!
Q. Tell the world something about yourself and what you do in life?
Forest: I’m originally from London, England but have just recently moved to Cairo, Egypt and luckily for me I work full time online…. If you are interested in how all this came to be then I’ll start at the beginning!
I worked for many years as a large format graphic designer in London with high stress deadlines and big named clients such as HMV, Ralph Lauren, EMI and many more. I liked it but was getting a little fed up of being in England and working so hard. So in August 2006 I moved on a one year visa to Montreal, Canada. I ended up staying for just over 2 years (legally!)
On previous visits to Montreal I had met my now long term partner Lara. She was American from just over the border in Vermont. On arrival to Montreal I found a job in the kitchen of an Irish bar. It was fun but just not what I wanted to do. I also felt that I needed to stay away from the corporate world of graphic design.
Just before moving to Canada I had been playing around with blogs. My main blog at the time TheRandomForest had just started to make some cash through AdSense and paid posts. So in March 07 I took a blind leap into working full time online. This new found freedom allowed me flexibility to travel so I spent much of my time moving back and forth between Vermont and Montreal whilst trying to build a sustainable business. Slowly design came back into my life and I now hold a close client list that i do regular graphics and coding work for. I also blog about blogging and hold many niche blogs…. It’s hard at times but I love it.
Now finally the Egypt part…. My partner expressed a wish to study in Egypt and luckily due to my job I happily agreed that I would come along for the ride. After a 3 month journey through USA, England and finally here in Cairo I am just getting back to business and dealing with the boring day to day things of getting cash flow moving and funds topped back up!
Sorry that was longer than I expected
Q. What was the story behind your Blog? (How you start Blogging – since when – how did you named your Blog).
I answered much of the in the question of how I got started above. But more specifically my interest in blogging came about one late night of boredom on the net. I randomly came across Steve Pavlina’s blog and was reading a post about how anyone can make cash online. I knew it was a little overhyped but still saw the possibility and started meddling with blogger blogs and AdSense. Over time my $0.01 earnings a day went to $0.10, $1.00 and so on.
RealBloggingTips.com, which is my main blog about blogging and making money, was not originally mine. It originally belonged and was named after Benjamin Patton. One late night on GChat he convinced me to buy his personal blog and threw in the domain name RealBloggingTips.com. With some redirection magic and a redesign I effectively made a new blog keeping his stats, rankings and some readers.
Q. Have you earned any money from been a Blogger? (How you did it – add links to useful websites for making money online – If NOT then tell us why you blog)
Yes. My income comes from 3 areas. Monetized blogs from AdSense and Affiliates, Website flipping and Graphic Design (mostly blogs) for clients.
RealBloggingTips.com does not make me any cash but I just started looking at that in the last few days. I have implemented AdSense on older posts as a test and am working with the banners.
Q. Would you tell us about ONE of your famous posts? (Why you think it’s famous.. it could be because of “content – traffic – comments – search engines”)
I’m not sure I would call any of my posts famous. However my case study on Josh Spaulding’s $5 formula has some continued interest. It’s not going tip top right now but I am going to fix that. Here is part 1: $5 A Day Adsense Site: Case Study.
Q. If I asked you to suggest ONE Blogger friend to send him/her a Famous Blogger Club invitation, who you will suggest?
This question is always too hard to answer but I would like to recommend 2 bloggers that do something that I wish I could.. And that is present awesome video content. They are Freddie Taylor and Joe Swoopes. Sorry I couldn’t only mention one out of those two guys!!

Hello! .. My name is
It seams to be so much easier, for your guys blogging about blogging to get, some income from the blogs, i have tried Adsense with out to much success, i have considered affiliate programs but in my blogging niche it seams difficult to find something useful.
Any ideas?
Morten
