Interview with Arun Founder of Million Clues – Famous Bloggers Club

Q. Tell the world something about your self and what you do in life?
Arun: I am Arun Basil Lal. I was born and bought up at Perumbavoor, a small town in Kerala, India and that’s where I live now. By the end of this year I would be a Graduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Being in India is a great bonus for me; most of the people I work with are in the US or Canada. I go to college during the day, when the Americans sleep and by the time I come back, they wake up. So I get the best of two worlds 
Living online has completely changed my outlook. I get to meet with new people day after day and make new friends. Twitter helps a lot.
I have some ideas for online projects, once I graduate, I wish to follow my dreams.

Q. What was the story behind your Blog? (how you start Blogging – since when – how did you named your Blog).
Arun: Back in 2004, out of my interest to software and web, I started reading random blogs and sites. Sometimes I would feel ‘I knew that already’ or ‘I can write better than this’. The idea that I could publish something online, free of cost was so thrilling. I always loved writing.
On to that, I read about those people who made their living out of Blogging. Like many starters, the idea of making money sounded good. So on October 04th of 2006 I started off with millionclues.blogspot.com.
I had chosen some other name for my blog, but it wasn’t available. Those days, milliondollarhomepage.com was in the news. I liked the idea of having million with the name, and I found clue in an Oxford. Clue means the idea or hint to the solution of a problem. Well, that was what my blog was going to be, sounded perfect. Luckily, many liked it.
Soon I realized, making money by Blogging is not very easy. But by that time, I was addicted and there was no going back. In August 2008, I moved to WordPress with a new domain name, millionclues.com and here I am, Blogging about WordPress, Blogging and the Web.
Q. Have you earned any money from been a Blogger? (How you did it – add links to useful websites for making money online – If NOT then tell us why you blog)
Arun: Yea, I have made money from Blogging, in fact all the money I made online was in some way related to my Blog. In terms of direct revenue, Affiliates, mostly commission for theme sales, were the highest payers. Google Adsense is also good.
In terms of opportunities I have got because of my blog – The clients I get for Blog design, Theme optimization and SEO. Plus, I got chances to work with other people on some online projects.
Q. Would you tell us about ONE of your famous posts? (Why you think it’s famous.. it could be because of “content – traffic – comments – search engines”)
Arun: My most famous post in terms of Traffic, Comments and Search Ranking is a post on StudioPress themes, Revolution 2 Premium WordPress Themes – Free Download. That one post has given me more money and opportunities that any other post I have ever written and any money I have made before that post.

Arun: That’s a hard question to answer, but I have just ONE chance, right?

@Girls Bedroom, I had that problem till I got an external Hard drive. YOu can find them relatively cheap these days.
money making is really needed if you want to have some financial security for your own life -.-

online movies are cool, they might not have very high quality but at least you can watch lots of em *.,
i am always on the lookout for new free online movies website, they are really hard to come by,;:
there are lots of free online movies on bittorrent as well as on emule, download them while they are still online.`’
i always watch online movies from Vimeo or Youtube, it is low resolution but most of the time sufficient.:~~

Internet Explorer 8 is very good because it is as stable as Opera. I hate the previous versions of IE like IE6 because it hangs frequently. ‘
