Interview with Christie Founder of MiscBytes – FBC
A great interview with Christie the founder of MiscBytes blog, she blog about a wide range of topics, starting from science news to articles about Blogging to new Google features – generally a blend of things on or about the web, with a splash of science thrown in. Christie is a very nice and helpful person, let’s enjoy the interview with her.
Q. Tell the world something about your self and what you do in life?
I grew up in Atlanta, GA, and went to Georgia Tech, where I received my B.S. in Applied Biology. Then a few years later I moved to Alabama, where I live now. Gradually over the years I transitioned from working in the lab to working in IT, and now I am an IT analyst for my full time day job. I’m also the mother of two wonderful boys, ages 17 and 20. I love the web and interacting with people all over the world, so last year I started Blogging.

Q. What was the story behind your Blog? (how you start Blogging – since when – how did you named your Blog).
I started Blogging a year ago, but I never could decide on my niche. I bought 30 domains over the past year, starting blogs then eventually letting them die for one reason or another! I wanted to write about the web, but I wanted to write about pets and other science topics. Then one day I was on GoDaddy’s site trying to figure out a short name that would just be a cool blog for any of the science or internet things I want to post about. MiscBytes.com was available so I grabbed it! That was April 30, 2009, so MiscBytes is pretty new.
Q. Have you earned any money from been a Blogger? (How you did it – add links to useful websites for making money online – If NOT then tell us why you blog)
I have earned a little with AdSense, but of course not enough yet to get paid. 
I started having better luck with my ads when I switched to image-only. So people reading a post about a Tivo get a picture ad about Tivos or DVRs – and now sometimes people click on those! As MiscBytes gets established, I will venture more into affiliate sales.
Q. Would you tell us about ONE of your famous posts? (Why you think it’s famous.. it could be because of “content – traffic – comments – search engines”)
It’s not really famous but there was a post that was quite a hit on my blog lately. I found an old chart of avatars and what people want you to think they mean vs. what they really mean. I didn’t create the chart and certainly say that in my post. But the commenters and I have had so much fun laughing about that chart – my most comments on a post yet!
Q. If I asked you to suggest ONE Blogger friend to send him/her a Famous Blogger Club invitation, who you will suggest?
I suggest Wong Ching Ya (http://www.wchingya.com) because she is not only a talented professional quality Blogger, she is a generous person who helps and promotes even the smallest Blogger. She has guest posted on some pretty big blogs recently, and she’s also great at web design. She definitely belongs in the Famous Blogger Club.
