Interview with Harsh Agrawal Founder of ShoutMeLoud – Famous Bloggers Club
Interview of today is going to be with Harsh Agrawal the founder of ShoutMeLoud blog, Harsh was working with an IT firm Convergys, Gurgaon India but now he is a professional Blogger. He make money by working from home. Sitting in front of computer and writing what he like. Let’s proceed with the interview!
Q. Tell the world something about your self and what you do in life?
Harsh: Hi I’m Harsh Agrawal, a Software engineer by education and and a Blogger by profession. I’m from the land of diversity “India”. I would love to connect to more Bloggers friend on Twitter, but word of caution , I tweet a lot and my Facebook is always full of updates ( though only useful content), so before adding me have a nice look into my profile
Twitter – @denharsh – Facebook – Friendfeed
Q. What was the story behind your Blog? (how you start Blogging – since when – how did you named your Blog).
Harsh: I started Blogging out of interest, I love technology and I started with blogspot and started writing on technology. Once one of my story made Digg FP and that has a crazy effect on me. After understanding the importance of wordpress, I moved to my self hosted blog and continue with what I always wanted “Knowledge sharing”. Later on I started writing my experience on how I’m creating and promoting my blog, and somehow my articles on Blogging attracted more audience over tech post.
About my blog name Shoutmeloud , Instead of going for some keyword rich name, I wanted to brand myself with something unique. Shoutmeloud was something which strike to me while listening to some song while traveling and Immediately I signed up with it.
Q. Have you earned any money from been a Blogger? (How you did it – add links to useful websites for making money online – If NOT then tell us why you blog)
To be honest , making money online was a myth for me, I remember when I got first 10$ from a freelancing work and I shared this with every close friend of mine. Later on I realize the potential of Blogging and I find, if you market yourself very well, you will be sitting on a gold mine. I started with AdSense and moved to affiliate marketing.
I started my own set of services like Blogspot to wordpress and free wordpress blog set up.
And I was lucky enough that none of my client ever complained about my work and more over there page rank increased in the last PR update.
Maximum monthly income from my blog and my freelancing work which I have earner till now is 1160$
But somehow this month seems to be good to me as I have made almost 500$ by the 6th of this month.
Talking about any website which will tell you to make money online, In my opinion there is none. Every website tell you to make money by making money for themselves. The best way is read every where, even a spam post has an idea underlying between it. Understand the concept and start your own model of making money online.
For an example: AdSense is the best way to make money online, but for some people it never works. It doesn’t mean you can’t make money out of your blog. Look for alternative, try your hand on affiliate marketing or start your own set of services. Never follow anyone style of making money, always develop yours.
Q. Would you tell us about ONE of your famous posts? (Why you think it’s famous.. it could be because of “content – traffic – comments – search engines”)
If I talk about from search engine point of view, one of famous post is 10 most expensive domain name.
It’s because it was also promoted on Digg and other social bookmarking sites and that helped it to get good ranking in search engine as well.
Q. If I asked you to suggest ONE Blogger friend to send him/her a Famous Blogger Club invitation, who you will suggest?
George already appeared in Famous Blogger group else I would love to invite him again. One of my real source of inspiration is Rahul from Devils workshop.
He is one amazing and cool guy. He guided me all the way at the starting days of Blogging. I’m sure you will love to have him on the board.
