Jeremiah Hoyet Founder of The Future of Blog at FBC100 interviews
FBC100 had the opportunity to interview Jeremiah Hoyet, he is a talented young guy who is interested in connecting with people and the sharing knowledge through the use of social mediums, I really like his blog The Future of Blog! It’s about Blogging, Marketing and Money Making Tips, So.. let’s go a head and know more about the Future of Blog!
Q.Tell the world something about your self and what you do in life?
Jeremiah: My name is Jeremiah Hoyet. I’m an every day 20 year old guy. I have a day job at a department store, and I blog on the side at The Future of Blog. I can be found on Twitter @jerhoyet, but you can find me all around the web including Facebook and Digg.
My adventure on the Internet began several years ago, but really came to life when I joined the social networking scene at Digg in late 2005. Shortly after rising to the top of the community, I was hired by Jason Calacanis to work with the Netscape (now Propeller) team. I had the fortune of working with that team for over 2 years. Now I’m trying my hand at working for myself as a blogger!
Q. What was the story behind your Blog?
Jeremiah: My blog is the result of many failed attempts at jumping into blogging. For several years I have had blogs, none of which were very successful. The Future of Blog is my way of sharing experiences and knowledge that I have gained from my other attempts at success. The name of my blog does hold some meaning, although I guess I’ve never really publicized it in the past. The meaning behind “The Future of Blog” is that my generation, teenagers and twenty-somethings, are the future of the blogosphere. We will be the ones that mold how the blogging community as a whole progresses in the next twenty years.
Q. Have you earned any money from been a Blogger?
Jeremiah: I have yet to reach a point where I could categorize myself as a successful, full-time blogger. At the moment blogging doesn’t provide a substantial income, but that’s not the real reason I set out to blog in the first place. For me, blogging is a much enjoyed hobby. I blog for the love of writing, sharing, and learning from the experiences. I hope that one day in the future I can call myself a full time blogger, but for now, I’m content with blogging being my hobby.
Q. Would you tell us about ONE of your famous posts?
Jeremiah: One of my blog posts that I like to think is famous would have to be “4 Reasons You’re Holding Yourself Back as a Blogger”. It doesn’t do terribly well with search engine traffic, and isn’t my most popular blog post, but everyone who reads it tells me how much it motivated them to try harder with their own blogs. I even go back and read it every time I feel like I want to give up on blogging!
Q. If I asked you to suggest ONE Blogger friend to send him/her a Famous Blogger Club invitation, who you will suggest?
Jeremiah: I’m a pretty busy being a young dad, so I seldom get the chance to sit down and hold long conversations anymore. I can suggest one person who impresses me constantly, even though I haven’t had the chance to get to know him better. That person is Alex Fraiser from Blogussion. At 15 he’s a successful blogger, a very talented web designer, and is an inspiration to all young people trying to make it on the Internet!
