Keller Hawthorne of FresheVenture.com Super Interview at Famous Bloggers Club
It’s really exciting to read what’s on my friends Bloggers mind, and the story behind their blogs. OK.. OK.. I am not going to talk too much, I will let you enjoy the read of this super interview with Keller Hawthorne of the FresheVenture, I am exciting about her Best WordPress Design 2009 Contest that I have joined! as voting will start on the beginning of September!
Q. Tell the world something about yourself and what you do in life?
Well, I’m definitely a workaholic. Ever since I was a kid, I dreamed of being my own boss and running a fantastically successful and powerful company. However, attendance has never been a strong suit of mine, so working from home has offered me a great platform to reach those dreams.
I have this insistent need to work or produce something. Life is so short and I don’t want to wait until I’m 65 to enjoy it. I hope by investing all of myself in my businesses now (and I do mean ALL of myself) I will reach great success early in my life. I never feel like there’s enough time to do everything I want to do. If I could, I would try my hand at a million different types of businesses.
When I turned 22 years old, I opened my first ecommerce store. I quickly realized I had NO clue how the Internet worked. So, I decided to invest all of my time in research. SEO, online marketing, copywriting, web design – you name it, I learned it.
The next year (2006) I decided to close my store and open a brand new one. Theme Kitchen was born! It’s been a great success thanks to my first failure and lessons. That same year, I took on my first SEO and web design clients. Soon thereafter, I decided to put my artistic/marketing skills to the test by opening KBH Web Marketing. This business relies purely on word of mouth marketing and has brought me some fantastic clients!
In 2007, I decided Theme Kitchen needed a sister, so I opened Theme Bathroom. In 2008, I graduated college with a major in business. I actually got to end college and NOT go find a job – I was already my own boss!
I sell my own handmade jewelry online at Bella K Handmade Jewelry and in 2009, I decided to dive into the world of blogging by launching FresheVenture.com.
Twitter @fresheventure and Facebook
Q. What was the story behind your Blog?
For four years, I’ve offered my help and guidance to my web marketing clients by phone. I decided to make 2009 the year I would share my knowledge on a global scale. On May 8, 2009 I launched FresheVenture.com, my Internet business blog.
The truth is I’ve wanted to do this since 2005. The second I began learning about Internet marketing, I fell in love. I couldn’t wait to discuss it, learn it and teach it, but I needed some success under my belt before I could position myself as a worthwhile online marketer. Thanks to my stores and clients, I now have the experience and proof of success needed to broadcast myself as someone who might just know what they’re doing.
My blog is meant to be a completely free resource for anyone interested in starting and growing a successful online business.
For some reason, the word “fresh” became the mantra for my blog. I wanted the content, design and vibe to be fresh (perhaps a reflection of this new and fresh time in my life). I almost called it “Fresh Preneur,” but thankfully a friend pointed out the close “stinky” association with that name.
Q. Have you earned any money from being a Blogger?
I have. Even though my blog is only 3 months old, it’s paid for its first year of hosting and brought me several new web design clients (which I wasn’t expecting).
Q. Would you tell us about ONE of your famous posts?
Humm… Well, my first famous post was How I Got Google PageRank within 3 Weeks of Launching My Website. I knew this topic would bring in some readers, but I didn’t expect it to remain one of the most popular posts on my blog for three months! This post happens to be one of my favorites as it deals with a controversial issue that so many website owners don’t seem to understand. SEO is one of my favorite topics.
Q. If I asked you to suggest ONE Blogger friend to send him/her a Famous Blogger Club invitation, who you will suggest?
I would definitely suggest Scott Howard of Wayward Garage! He just transferred 8 years of content over to his first blog platform (WordPress). He’s been blogging for almost a decade without ever realizing it. He’s the perfect example of someone who has obtained an audience just by blogging for fun.

Hello! .. My name is
I am so glad that I found Keller’s website, FresheVenture.com. It has been very helpful to me as I start my blogging career. There is so much great information that is current and tested recently.
In fact, I wrote a post to recommend her site, but it quickly turned into three posts (I could have easily done a few more).

Another great interview. It feels so good to see that when someone “puts” in all the efforts, that it is possible to succeed. I have just visited your blog ” fresheventure and it looks very informative. Obviously I have not had the time to scour it at all (just a peek), but rest assured you will be seeing more of me over there.

I’m sure it was Keller Hawthorne who wrote a review and added my social network for bloggers ‘blogengage” to her list of directories you must submit to. I was very honored to hear her opinion and to be added to her list of all lists!
