Michelle Adams telling her Blog Story on Famous Bloggers Club interviews

FBC100 had a great chance to interview the intelligent Michelle Adams, Michelle’s business aims to ultimately drive the work-at-home movement to enable people more freedom and less stress in their lives. I am sure you will enjoy the interview with her!

Q. Tell the world something about your self and what you do in life?

Michelle: I’ve been a stay at home mum for more than seven years now and over the last 12 months have become very serious about my online businesses.

My background is in strategic business development primarily in retail, with a career that spanned almost 15 years. After having my first child I made the tough decision to resign from my position to look after my baby full time. Giving up a six figure income was not easy to swallow but my children came first.

Some two years later my entrepreneurial passion could not be ignored which led me to starting a bricks and mortar business in the food industry. The business was set up to expand into a franchise but with a two year old child, staffing issues and the business trading seven days a week from morning until late it became too big a burden on our family unit.

I was proud to have taken a brand new start up business to one that was generating over a quarter of a million dollars in sales in it’s first year, but the toll on our lifestyle was too great with a young family so we walked away from bricks and mortar seriously tired and burnt out.

It wasn’t long before the business itch struck again and I worked various ‘at home’ businesses and I started dabbling online three years ago.

Q. What was the story behind your Blog?

Michelle: One day I decided I should register my personal name in whatever sensible form was still available; I registered Michelle-Adams.com. I knew one day I would blog about something but wasn’t sure what.

It was quite a funny story that initiated my blog but at the time I wasn’t laughing! I had indeed fallen for a massive make money online launch that at the end of the day was overhyped and treated people pretty poorly in my opinion. It got me so worked up that I pulled together my blog, a video and a free report in less than 36 hours so I could tell people about it. I think I shocked myself to discover just how much one person can churn out quickly when they’re passionate about something.

That’s coming up to almost ten months ago now and my blog content is becoming more focused around building and selling web property.

Q. Have you earned any money from being a Blogger?

Michelle: For my Michelle Adams blog, well it’s still relatively new and my main area of focus currently is on building traffic and subscribers. That being said I have made some affiliate sales but it’s only been in the past month that I’ve set up some additional monetization components when I changed my WordPress theme.

Q. Would you tell us about ONE of your famous posts?

Michelle: Given the site is so new I couldn’t convincingly argue that any post was famous but one that did seem to draw more attention was a case study of a site I sold for $250, and here is the link to $250 Site Flip.

I guess it’s popular because the reader can gain an insight in to the steps I took to build that site and get a feel for whether they could possibly do it too. There are a few other bloggers who’ve linked to that post specifically which has also driven traffic.

It’s a clear enough indicator to me that people really like to see examples, not just ‘talk’, and I’ll be sharing more of that type of content over the coming months.

Q. If I asked you to suggest ONE Blogger friend to send him/her a Famous Blogger Club invitation, who you will suggest?

Michelle: Oh there are so many to choose from but one that I feel compelled to mention is Forest at www.RealBloggingTips.com. He’s dedicated to his blog and his readers and is a very generous, genuine individual.
