Rajeev of the MintBlogger Sharing his experience on Famous Bloggers Club
Another wonderful interview, this time it’s from Rejeev, I can say I waited so long to publish this interview with MintBlogger founder! I am sure that you find it very interesting to know more about Rejeev as a Pro Blogger and his Making Money Tips!
Q. Tell the world something about your self and what you do in life?
Rajeev: I’m Rajeev Edmonds, a 33 year old Pro Blogger, Technical Editor and Social Media Enthusiast. Apart from regular blogging, I also do technical editing of books/ebooks with subjects ranging from Blogging, Social Media, and Internet Marketing. On the lighter side, in my leisure time I enjoy connecting with like-minded peers and spending time with my fiancée.
You can connect with me on twitter @mintblogger and on Facebook.
Q. What was the story behind your Blog?
Rajeev: I started blogging way back in 2006 as a hobby. My first blog was a rather neglected personal diary on blogger. Two years later, I stepped into professional blogging with the launch of MintBlogger and Fresh Tech Tips. The former was started in Feb 2008, and the latter one 7 months later in October 2008. The domain name ‘mintblogger’ was chosen by chance. I was looking for a short name with keyword blogger. The word mint represents fresh content with new perspective. I generally prefer to write long posts with supporting illustrations, which are very well received by the audience.
Q. Have you earned any money from been a Blogger?
Rajeev: Yes, I did started blogging for the purpose of making money out of it. The direct earnings (advertisements) from my blogs is about 1/3rd of my total earnings, with 2/3rd share coming from indirect methods. Apart from adverts, significant part of my earnings comes from:
- Maintaining about half a dozen client blogs. (Education/healthcare/Retail)
- Technical editing for couple of publishing companies.
- Writing for an Indian portal.
Q. Would you tell us about ONE of your famous posts?
Rajeev: Although, there are several posts that get decent traffic, but I found this post (How To Get Direct Advertisements For Your Blog) as the most rewarding in terms of back links acquired and the amount organic traffic it receives. After publishing this post, I’ve got countless emails from readers asking various questions about direct advertising. I generally use 3 metrics to assess the popularity of any post.
- The number of back links it receives.
- Where it stands in SERP’s (Both for long tail key phrases as well as highly competitive keywords)
- And last but not the least, readers’ comments and emails.
Q. If I asked you to suggest ONE Blogger friend to send him/her a Famous Blogger Club invitation, who you will suggest?
Rajeev: I’ve found Wong Ching Ya as a promising young blogger. She is a quick learner with immense talent that clearly reflects in her writings and reviews.
