Seth Waite of Blogussion at Famous Bloggers Interviews
Finally Famous Bloggers Club got a new member and a chance to do this awesome interview; he is Seth from the Blogussion blog. I have a short story to tell you before reading this interesting interview with Seth, I knew Blogussion maybe more than two years ago, and I am still in love with its design, and maybe you can see the reflection on my personal blog when I tried to tweak my theme a little bit! And oh! It’s time the interview. Enjoy everybody.
Q. Tell the world something about yourself and what you do in life?
I am currently a graduate student studying Law. I will be a lawyer in 3 years and am excited to be finishing school soon. I have a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and studied business as a minor. My hobbies include cycling, running, swimming, and playing basketball. I also love to read and spend time with my family. Good books are my favorite past time.
One of the things I enjoy the most is getting to know other goal oriented people. I am easy to get in touch with through Twitter, just @reply to me and we can start getting to know each other better. I also am an avid stumbler and am trying to get new subscribers and friends through Stumbleupon. I love blogging and the best part is all the new people I am able to meet.
Q. What was the story behind your Blog? (How you start Blogging – since when – how did you named your Blog).
Well I have been blogging now for almost 2 years. I started with Google’s very easy but too simple, Blogger, and then discovered WordPress. Since WordPress I have had political, religious, and blog tips blogs. Most of the blogs I started are now sold and I am focusing only on Blogussion right now.
Blogussion, my current blog, is actually a partnership with Alex Fraiser, a stellar dude and a wonderful designer. He makes Thesis Themes do whatever he wants! Our focus has been to put together a high-quality content blog that is both visually appealing (one of the best “content-driven” designs online) and community focused. We are definitely reaching our goals right now. We are getting great traffic and every day we get more publicity from other great bloggers to help spread the word about our work there. Its a topic I love to write about because I love helping other bloggers meet their goals, get traffic, and make money.
Q. Have you earned any money from being a Blogger?
I have earned money online from blogging. Most of it has been through affiliate links to great products I use. The number one money maker for me has been helping people find great web hosting. My blog right now is ad free so you won’t find any there to bother you. Also we minimize any efforts at reviews or affiliate sales as well. Our main purpose is to help people reach their goals. Eventually we would like to earn a living from our blogging efforts, but that is something we are building up to very slowly. When that day comes it will be products most likely we create ourselves that we can guarantee are useful to our readers.
A great post to read about earning though is 30 Real Ways to Make Money Blogging. It breaks down monetization methods into 3 categories, beginner, novice and advanced. This way you won’t waste time on things that won’t work for your blog.
Q. Would you tell us about ONE of your famous posts?
One of my favorite posts would have to be a recent post on 169 New Ways to Promote Your Blog Like A Ninja. It’s a fun article with lots of great tips for online and offline promotion that you probably have never heard about before. I think it’s somewhat humorous as well. It currently has 68 comments, 92 Tweets and some stumbles. I would love to see those numbers rise and more people link to this great resource. Plus the image for it is very cool.
Q. If I asked you to suggest ONE Blogger friend to send him/her a Famous Blogger Club invitation, who you will suggest?
Only one! That’s hard… I would have to tell you to check out Alex Fraiser, my partner, besides our blog, Alex has two other stellar sites you have to see for yourself… Kolakube and Asnio. He is an amazing designer and excellent blogger. Plus he is only 16!
